About Our University

Sri Krishnadevaraya University, named after the great emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire, was established in 1981 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The university has grown to become a center of academic excellence, contributing significantly to higher education and research in the region.

Our campus spans over 450 acres, providing a serene and conducive environment for learning and research. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade. The Biotechnology Research Center focuses on agricultural biotechnology, medical diagnostics, and environmental bioremediation. The Center for Renewable Energy Studies researches solar energy, wind power, and biofuel technologies relevant to the region.

The university provides separate hostel facilities for men and women with modern amenities. Each hostel has reading rooms, recreational facilities, WiFi, and 24/7 security. Nutritious meals are served in hygienic dining halls.

Multiple food courts and cafeterias across campus offer diverse, nutritious, and affordable meal options. Special dietary needs are accommodated. The main cafeteria serves traditional Andhra meals alongside North Indian and Continental options.

Sports & Recreation

Excellent sports facilities including cricket ground, football field, basketball and tennis courts, gymnasium, and indoor sports complex. Annual inter-college tournaments and yoga classes promote physical fitness and teamwork.

Student Organizations

Over 50 student-run clubs and organizations cater to diverse interests including literary arts, debating, music, dance, photography, environmental activism, and entrepreneurship. The Student Council represents student interests and organizes cultural festivals.

The annual university fest "Vijayanagara Utsav" showcases talent in music, dance, drama, and fine arts. Technical festivals like "TechVista" feature coding competitions, robotics workshops, and tech talks by industry leaders.

NSS (National Service Scheme) and NCC (National Cadet Corps) units provide opportunities for community service and leadership development. Students participate in village adoption programs, literacy campaigns, and environmental conservation projects.

Admissions

Admission Process & Requirements

Sri Krishnadevaraya University admits students based on merit and through entrance examinations for various programs. Admissions for the academic year 2023-24 are currently open for most programs.

For B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., and B.Ed. programs, admission is based on intermediate (10+2) marks. Minimum requirement is 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST). Application deadline: June 30, 2023. Required documents:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer Certificate from previous institution
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Passport-size photographs

For M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., and M.Ed. programs, admission is based on entrance examination (SKUPGET) and undergraduate marks. Application deadline: May 15, 2023. Entrance exam date: June 10, 2023. Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree with 55% aggregate.

Ph.D. admissions are based on entrance test (SKURET) and interview. Applications are accepted twice a year (January and July). Minimum requirement: Master's degree with 55% marks. Research proposal must be submitted with application.
